Learning Hockey

Chase has always had a fascination with snow or anything to do with what the north brings. A while back we learned about a free hockey program that our local ice rink offers. He was excited to be on the ice and I was excited for a free sport activity. After the first moment on the ice he was hooked. So, we signed him up for the up and coming hockey season. Which was NOT free. Wow, what an expensive sport but he is loving it. He is such a team player. He is so encouraging to each of his teammates, whether they made a goal or made a mistake, he is giving them a "pat on the back." He was put in with the big kids. And when I say big I mean some are as tall as me, with out skates on. When he only weighs 64 lbs, that is a huge difference. Especially in a sports that is so physical. He only missed the younger league by 10 days.
I figure what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger. If he sticks with this he is sure to be a force to be reckoned with. I so enjoy Friday nights. I love watching him grow into the man God has planned for him to be.
