Today was the second day of this school year for the boys. There have been good or even better, great moments. And well, there have been some bad ones too. Chase doesn't like being in the public school. I am and will continue to pray hard for the door to open to bring him back home. Today, he came home with a detention. Yep, you read that right, a detention. I flipped out. My mind was racing all over the place. How could Chase have done anything to receive that sever of a discipline action the second day of school? He doesn't even know any of the kids the to get in trouble with them. Besides that, he just doesn't get in trouble (when he is away from home) I was totally shocked when I found out he received it because he didn't turn in a homework assignment. An assignment that he didn't even know he was to do. Did I mention this is only the second day of school? Oh and he is in fifth grade and they are rotating classes this year amongst three teachers. I will be heading in tomorrow to figure this one out. 2 + 2 just doesn't add up on this one.
Reese, however, had a jam up day. What a joy he is to teach. He had his moments but all in all he was eager to learn. I believe it's because he has always been home and in an environment that allowed for learning to be a positive experience and not a dreaded task. Yesterday, he did crash after lunch with a migraine. He fell asleep for about 2 hrs and woke up feeling great. I was so thankful he was home. If I had sent him to school (like I almost did) who knows how that would have impacted him.
I will continue to be the very best mommy I can be to my precious gifts. I will continue to stay on my knees, praying for God to protect and guide us.

Praying with you! My mother-in-law calls it "little baggies of grace" that the Lord pours on you when needed...not too early and not too late. Keep up the good work!
